Preparing for the OMM

On the 29th October, I’ll be embarking on my first OMM. Despite having competed in 5 previous Mountain Marathon, I get the feeling this is the big one. Most of the others I have completed, the Saunders, RAB etc have been in the height of summer. Central Scotland at the end of October seems a bit more serious.

The distinct lack of training, the generous amount of food and beer over the summer, and a niggle knee injury mean that preparation is going to be a tough old struggle. Despite all this however, I’m extremely excited to be getting up into the mountains and introducing GGAC legend to mountain racing.

Only 8 weeks to get into shape, it’s a good job the cross country season is only round the corner!
